4 Injured After Machinery Malfunction At McCormick Plant
Four people were injured Monday in a machinery malfunction, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Four people were injured Monday in a hazmat incident reported at the McCormick and Company plant in Hunt Valley.
The plant is located at 11100 McCormick Road.

The Baltimore County Fire Department initially said in a post that a machine malfunction left three people injured and that a hazmat team was on site.
An update posted at 3:40 p.m. revealed that the number of injured persons jumped to four.

One person suffering serious injuries was flown to a shock trauma center. Three other individuals were taken to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not provided any identifying information about the three individuals or details on what prompted the malfunction.

"Hazmat team on site advises no threat to community," reads a post by the department.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
The incident comes nearly a week after McCormick announced its plan to merge with Unilever, a major deal worth $20 billion.
