UPDATE: $40K Secured Toward Indian Rock Trail Extension
Trails near Perry Hall High School could be improved within a year.

UPDATE (2 p.m.)—Up to $40,000 has been allocated toward the extension of trails at , a 16-acre wooded area adjacent to , announced Tuesday afternoon.
The State Highway Administration's Recreational Trails Program awarded a $30,000 grant toward the project. An additional $10,000 was added as a local match by the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks, according to Marks.
Marks hopes to develop a hiking and biking trail between and roads, where there is currently no "pedestrian link," he stated in a press release.

"At Silver Spring Road, the path would become part of the Northeast Trail, which is envisioned to stretch along Perry Hall Boulevard to Linover Park in Overlea," Marks stated.
Improvements are pending environmental analysis and community input, but could be completed within a year, he told Patch by email.
Tuesday's press release recognized state and state delegates , and as supporters of the trail improvements. It also recognized and the Department of Recreation and Parks for supporting the grant application.
"This is the sort of quality of life amenity that helps make Baltimore County such a great place to raise a family," Kamenetz stated in a county press release sent on Wednesday afternoon.
