Man Killed In Head-On Crash: Police

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A man is dead after being involved in a head-on collision in Parkton, police said Thursday.

Baltimore County police identified the man as 64-year-old Lawrence Martin Jr., who was driving in the 1100 block of Mount Carmel Road when the crash occurred on Wednesday.

Police were alerted to the scene just after 12 p.m.

A release issued by the Baltimore County Police Department stated the crash happened when Martin, driving a 2011 Honda CR-V, was traveling eastbound on Mount Carmel Road.

Martin collided with a 2004 Dodge Dakota traveling in the opposite direction moments after he crossed the center line of the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge Dakota was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation by the department is ongoing.
