BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A woman was killed Friday in a tractor-trailer crash that took place on Interstate 95.
Maryland State Police identified the woman as 34-year-old Francesca Lloyd, who was a passenger in a Subaru Outback driven by 41-year-old Gregory Lloyd.
Both individuals are from Nottingham and are believed to be married. Gregory remains hospitalized.
No other injuries were reported.
MSP said the fatal crash occurred around 3 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-95, near the 62.3-mile marker.
The crash unfolded, according to investigators, when the Subaru hit the rear of the tractor-trailer, which had been attempting to get onto the right shoulder after experiencing a flat tire.
Investigators believe impairment may have contributed to the crash.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing, with possible charges pending its outcome.
