Angel Park is Born in Perry Hall
The Baltimore County Council passed a resolution to make the park's name official.

Baltimore County officially named the space next to the Perry Hall Library at a Monday meeting of the Baltimore County Council.
Perry Hall Councilman David Marks introduced a resolution to re-designate the space at 9685 Honeygo Boulevard as “Angel Park,” which passed unanimously.
“I am proud to support this effort,” Marks said, noting that Angel Park is one of four new Perry Hall parks that will be completed by the end of 2015. Others include Soukup Arena, Gough Park and Joppa Trail Park.

The name “Angel” comes from the Perry Hall couple who inspired the park’s creation and captures the spirit driving the project, according to the resolution, which states:
“...the idea for the park was inspired by local Perry Hall residents Kelli and Andy Szczybor, who turned the tragedy of the loss of their infant son, Ryan, to leukemia over 16 years ago, into an idea to build a park that would be a positive, safe, and peaceful area that every child and family could enjoy.

”The name ’Angel’ was purposely chosen by the Perry Hall community to represent the goodness in community and the positive impact that people—even total strangers—can have on each other’s lives, and to represent a vision of an ideal setting for happiness and reflection.
“Now therefore be it resolved by the County Council of Baltimore County that the currently designated Future Park Site located adjacent to the Perry Hall Library at 9685 Honeygo Boulevard and the Perry Hall Park ... is hereby redesignated as ’Angel Park.’”
Located along Honeygo Boulevard adjacent to the Perry Hall Library, the park will include a playground with special amenities designed for children with disabilities as well as an amphitheater.
It has been entirely funded by private donations and volunteers, according to Marks, who said construction is estimated to be complete by mid-2015.
