Construction Continues on Second Perry Hall Walgreens

Workers recently laid the foundation for Perry Hall's , located at the corner of Silver Spring and Belair roads.

Construction remains on schedule, said Tiffani Washington, a Walgreens spokesperson. The new store is expected to open this winter.

It's "certainly not uncommon" for the store to be located just two miles from an , Washington said. Nearly two-thirds of Americans live within three miles of a Walgreens.

"Lots of research goes into site selection. Something in the research indicated a need for this in the community," she said. "This area likely has a growing population of seniors or people about to become seniors—boomers."

These age groups tend to have a higher demand for , which account for 65 percent of Walgreens' total sales, she added.
