PHOTOS: Avenue Kicks Off Christmas Season with Santa and 'Snow'

White stuff, more like foam than snowflakes, shot from street lamps at The Avenue at White Marsh's main plaza Friday night. Santa and Mrs. Claus listened to Christmas wishes and the Shades of Blue Orchestra played jazzed up holiday tunes.

It was The Avenue's , and it didn't come a day too early, according to Leslie Updegraff, a Carney resident. 

"Christmas should be all year," Updegraff said, while foamy flurries collected on her knit cap. "It makes people nicer."
