Baltimore Riots Pose 'No Credible Threats' to Baltimore County: Officials
Day after riots, Baltimore County officials give update; school activities canceled, some malls close.

As tensions continue to run high in Baltimore City, police in Baltimore County say there is “no unusual activity” Tuesday afternoon.
“Reports that the National Guard are deploying to Baltimore County are false. No unusual activity in the county at this time,” the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement after 3 p.m.
Even so, malls in Dundalk, Owings Mills and Windsor Mill decided to close Tuesday, and some stores at Towson Town Center reportedly closed as well.

Towson University was ending classes early to allow faculty and staff to meet a newly instituted curfew in the city.
Baltimore County Public Schools announced that after-school activities would be canceled on Tuesday, April 28. The decision came amid concern that parents would pull their children from sports, The Baltimore Sun reported.

Authorities say they are aware of the social media chatter regarding demonstrations planned for Baltimore County but do not believe they have legs.
“At this time, there is no evidence that a gathering is imminent,” Baltimore County public safety officials said in a statement.

Tactical, aviation and K-9 units plus extra personnel were at the ready for any potential incidents in the city and county, the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement.
In addition, Baltimore County Police say they are handling duties that normally fall under the jurisdiction of Maryland State Police as unrest continues in Baltimore City.
