Bearded Man Stages Crash to Rob Driver in Joppa: Police

A driver was robbed at knifepoint after a minor crash Monday on Harford Road, Maryland State Police reported.

Maryland State Police officials say they are trying to find the driver of a gray Mazda who is suspected of staging a fender bender in Joppa to rob another driver.

At 5 p.m. on Monday, a Bel Air driver was headed south on Harford Road when he was stopped in traffic and a gray Mazda hit him from behind before the MD 152 intersection, police reported.

When the Bel Air man got out of his vehicle to exchange information on the shoulder of Harford Road, police say the Mazda driver pulled out a folding knife and demanded his wallet. The victim handed over his wallet, and the suspect took off in the gray Mazda, according to police.
