Giant Food Store To Close In Baltimore County Next Month
A Giant Food Store that has served the Nottingham community for decades will permanently close in August.
NOTTINGHAM, MD — After decades of serving Baltimore County, a Giant Food Store in Nottingham will be closing in August for the last time.
Signage posted inside the Giant Food branch announced that the 7920-30 Belair Road location would be permanently closing by 6 p.m. on Aug. 6.
Impacted employees are being given the chance to transfer to another Giant Food Store.

The closure comes after the store, located in the Putty Hill Plaza shopping center, served the community for 50 years. Officials told WMAR2 that the decision to close the branch came about after "evaluating business and local trade areas."
Customers are now being directed to five other Giant locations:

- 8665 Philadelphia Road
- 7709 Harford Road
- 1955 East Joppa Road, Suite A
Prescriptions filled at the closing location will be transferred to a Giant branch closest to a customer's listed address.
While the company operates nearly 100 locations in Maryland, the closing is just the latest Giant Food Store to shutter in the region. In 2024, Giant closed its branch in the Edmondson Village shopping center, a space later taken over by an LA Mart.
