How many can you eat in one minute? If you think you can handle more than a dozen, then you should have been on hand for Saturday’s eating contest at White Marsh Mall.

Lonnie Farley of Nottingham ate 12 nuggets in 60 seconds to win the competition, which was held as part of the .

Farley was pitted against Tavon Maravle and Alisha White. The three contestants—all eating-contest novices—were picked at random immediately before the event got under way.

To earn the top prize of a $30 mall gift card, Farley used a tried and true strategy: “I just kept some of the nuggets inside my mouth at the end and finished eating them after time was up.”

Maravle, a White Marsh resident, who came up just two nuggets short of Farley, wasn't disappointed with his second-place finish. After all, he had just one motivation for participating in the contest: “I love Chick-fil-A nuggets!” he said.
