County: Sidewalks for Honeygo, Speed Bumps for Silver Spring

The sidewalks near Magnolia Avenue are part of a recommendation. This past spring and summer, the county also made efforts to extend sidewalks along and .

along Silver Spring Road, intended to slow traffic and improve , have also been approved by county officials. Nearby residents will be asked to review a plan for speed bumps in the coming weeks, Marks announced.

Last December, a by a vehicle along Silver Spring, causing several community members to call for drivers to travel more slowly along the busy street.  The victim, a 15-year old girl, survived the accident.

"I am happy the county is finally installing sidewalks on such an important corridor in Perry Hall," he said in the release. "Honeygo Boulevard is used by many joggers, walkers, and people trying to get to White Marsh Mall. Additionally, I am pleased that the hilly, eastern end of Silver Spring Road qualifies for traffic calming. For many years, I have heard complaints about speeding on Silver Spring Road. This should help."
