County to Prohibit U-Turns Near Joppa View Elementary

Within a 15-minute period, a Baltimore County study found that drivers performed between 20 and 25 U-turns near .

This study, in addition to complaints from residents of nearby Tremper Farms, helped fuel an upcoming prohibition on U-turns at northbound Honeygo Boulevard and Dove Drive, announced on Thursday.

Signs banning U-turns are expected to appear within the next two weeks.

"The traffic situation at Joppa View Elementary School is complex and difficult to solve," Marks stated, adding that parents who choose to drive their children to school, rather than use buses, contribute to the traffic issues.

Marks is working with Joppa View's principal and PTA, state Sen. Kathy Klausmeier and delegates Joe Boteler, Eric Bromwell and John Cluster to address ongoing traffic problems, he stated.
