Crossing Guard Honored By Elementary School: Report

PERRY HALL, MD — A crossing guard who has become known for her kindness to young students received her very own recognition award Tuesday at Perry Hall Elementary School, according to WMAR.

Students, staffers and parents gathered at the school's gymnasium to award crossing guard Helen Mills with a sunflower award.

Krista Klausmeier, who serves as the PTA president, told the outlet that "she is their angel," and that "a complete stranger could drive by, but she is still waving and giving you that beautiful smile that she has."

The event, which was also included a canned food drive initiative, is part of the school's "Annual Kindness Night."
