Teen Killed After Beltway Chase Linked to Triple Homicide: Police
Kentucky officials made gruesome discovery when Baltimore County police requested check on address where vehicle was registered.

What began as a traffic stop on Interstate 95 late Saturday morning in central Maryland ended up leading to a man’s death in Essex, the discovery of three bodies in Kentucky and an injured Baltimore County police officer, police said.
Jason C. Hendrix, 16, of Corbin, Ky., was fatally shot after leading a police pursuit around the Baltimore beltway, according to a statement from the Baltimore County Police Department.
After he was killed, police learned he may be connected to three deaths in Kentucky, according to reports.

A Maryland state trooper first attempted to stop Hendrix, who was driving a Honda Pilot, late Saturday morning on Interstate 95 south, police reported. During the pursuit, Hendrix crossed the median, drove across all northbound lanes of I-95 and took the exit for MD 195/MD 166, according to the report from Baltimore County police.

Baltimore County police later located the Honda Pilot in the Woodlawn area and also attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was registered in Kentucky, the report said. When Hendrix again refused to pull over, officers pursued him onto Interstate 695 east, police reported.
Police said Hendrix exited I-695 onto MD 702/Southeast Boulevard in Essex, hit a vehicle at Hyde Park Road and came to a stop.
As police approached the Honda Pilot, “gunfire came from the vehicle, striking an officer,” police reported.
One officer was hit in the ballistic vest; six police officers fired their weapons; and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report from Baltimore County authorities, who said the driver was “armed with a handgun and other weapons.”
When police asked law enforcement to check the address where the vehicle was registered in Corbin City, Ky. Saturday afternoon, Kentucky police found multiple people deceased at the residence, the report said.
Three people—Sarah and Kevin Hendrix and their daughter, Grace—appeared to have been dead since Wednesday, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader, a publication out of Kentucky, which reported they were killed by gunshots.
Police in Kentucky are considering Jason Hendrix a suspect in the triple murder, according to the Corbin News Journal. Jason Hendrix, a junior in high school, is the son of Sarah and Kevin Hendrix and was a church attendee and member of ROTC, the newspaper reported.
“Baltimore County detectives are working with Corbin City law enforcement to determine the link between what happened in Kentucky and what happened in Baltimore County,” according to a statement from Baltimore County police.
Sarah Hendrix, the boy’s mother, was an associate professor of social work at Union College in Barbourville, Ky., according to WJZ. Kevin Hendrix, his father, worked for the county clerk, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.
