Fire Engine Hit While Responding To Crash

A Baltimore County Fire Department engine was hit while responding to a collision on Interstate 95 over the weekend.

PERRY HALL, MD — A fire engine with the Baltimore County Fire Department was hit by a car over the weekend on Interstate 95 while responding to a crash.

Details released by the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company said emergency crews responded to reports of a collision involving an entrapment on Saturday at approximately 11 p.m.

At the scene, officials found no entrapment, but one person was ejected from a vehicle.

The incident happened on the southbound I-95 lanes, just before Interstate 695.

It was while officials were examining the initial scene that a car collided with a fire engine. Photos from the scene showed serious damage to an SUV.

"Multiple civilians from both accidents were transported to local hospitals," reads the release.

No personnel with the fire department were injured in the incident. Details on the extent of the damages to the fire engine were not released.
