"Unlike many of the other 'local' markets, our vendors must produce or grow what they sell," says Janelle Vane, a market planner. "We have a good, loyal following that knows our products and keeps coming back. The Avenue has supported the market for about 10 years and many of our customers say they have been coming since the beginning."
The Farmers Market accepts WIC, the federal program for women, infants and children, certificates for fresh vegetables.
