Fundraising Campaign Kicks Off for Perry Hall High School Turf Field

The Perry Hall High School Athletic Booster Club has kicked off its campaign to build an artificial turf field at Albert R. Miller Stadium.

"Perry Hall High School is one of a number of high schools in Baltimore County without a turf field," commented Paul Muller, co-chairman of the effort. "Our goal is to raise private sector and community funding now, and secure a governmental match in 2017."

Robert Hruz, athletic director at the high school and a co-chairman for the project, discussed the ongoing campaign to improve Perry Hall High School's athletic facilities. "Several years ago, the athletic booster club worked with Perry Hall's representatives to secure funding for a state-of-the-art digital scoreboard. The turf field is the next phase, which we hope to follow with infrastructure and field improvements."

Businesses and residents can donate to the effort by visiting http://www.phhsboosterclub.org. There will be special recognition at certain levels of contribution.

Over $72,000 has already been pledged from local recreation councils and other entities.

"The more money raised from the community and private entities, the more likely it will be that we get a public sector match," commented Councilman David Marks. "This is the next great project for our community to rally behind."
