Fire At Day Care Center In Perry Hall Ruled Accidental

Firefighters battled a fire Monday morning at a day care center in Perry Hall, Baltimore County fire officials said.

PERRY HALL, MD — Officials say the fire at a Perry Hall day care center has been ruled accidental. Nobody was injured, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Flames were through the roof when firefighters arrived Monday morning in the 8600 block of Winding Way.

Crews were sent to what was described as a residential building fire at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, according to authorities.

The address where the call was dispatched was White Marsh Child Care LLC.

A teacher at the day care told Patch that she and children were inside when the fire began.

Around 15 minutes after the fire was reported, officials said firefighters had it knocked, meaning it was suppressed.

The flames were contained to the attic area, according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company, which battled the blaze.

The fire was under control by 7:56 a.m., according to Elise Armacost, public affairs director for the Baltimore County Fire Department.

While the fire was quickly contained, Armacost reported it caused heavy damage to the roof.

Investigators determined the blaze was an accidental electrical fire, according to Armacost.
