by the Baltimore County Council on May 2, businesses in and around the Perry Hall Square Shopping Center have not yet begun using district benefits, Marks said.

Businesses within the designated area are eligible for low-interest loans, streetscape enhancements, tax credits, expert advice, regulatory assistance and possibly even grants for district-wide improvements.

The district includes Joppa Road from Seven Courts Drive to the Belair Road traffic signal, Belair Road from Blakeley Avenue to Minte Drive and Ebenezer Road from the traffic signal to Yvonne Avenue.

“Thanks to this legislation, [businesses] can qualify for incentives that give them a little extra help in this tough economic climate,” Marks said in a news release. “There is no requirement that businesses in this district participate, but it’s an option they may wish to pursue.”
