Logan Kurek was the grand marshal of the 2018 Kingsville Parade. Each year community members nominate someone for the honor who exemplifies the values of the community.

Kurek, 23, is a member of the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company, and parade organizers say he provided a "specific act of heroism" recently.

"While we honor and thank Mr. Kurek for his specific act of heroism, we also honor and thank all volunteer firefighters whose 24 hour vigilantism protects our lives and property daily."

This year's parade theme was "Being Grateful for Our Nation is Cause for Celebration!"
