Man, Woman Fatally Shot In Baltimore County's Essex: Police

ESSEX, MD — Two people died Monday morning after being shot inside a vehicle in the Essex area.

The Baltimore County Police Department said a shooting investigation was launched after officers were initially dispatched for reports of a car crash in the unit block of Banyan Wood Court.

Calls for the crash were first received by the department around 11 a.m.

At the scene, officials found a man and a woman inside a car suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were later pronounced dead.

Citing police, Fox 45 reported that a man was found fatally shot in a separate Essex shooting on the unit block of Bladen Road. The man was found with a gunshot wound in a vehicle.

None of the individuals were identified, and police have released no possible motives for either of the shootings. It's also unclear whether the shootings are connected.

Authorities said residents could expect a large police presence on Banyan Wood Court and the areas of E. Homberg Avenue and Bladen Road, as investigators work the scene.

An investigation into the cases remains ongoing.
