Son Charged in Rosedale Homicide: Baltimore County Police
The 80-year-old woman whose body was found decomposing in her Rosedale home was murdered, police reported.

ROSEDALE, MD — A woman found dead last month in her Rosedale home died by homicide, the Baltimore County Police Department reported Thursday. Her son has been charged in her murder, police said.
Timothy Lee Washington, 51, was taken into custody Sept. 14 and faces a first-degree murder charge, according to police.
Officers responded to a home in the 1500 block of Chapel Hill Drive after 11 p.m. on Aug. 23 after a relative had been unable to reach the resident for several weeks; they found the decomposing body after forcing their way inside, according to a statement from police. Court records indicate the murder occurred Aug. 9.

Bernice Virginia Washington, 80, was found inside the home deceased. The medical examiner determined that she died from blunt force trauma.
Her son — Timothy Washington — was identified as the suspect in her murder, and he is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Police Department. Timothy Washington is slated to appear in Baltimore County District Court on Oct. 14 for a preliminary hearing in the case.
