Man Charged In Rape Denied Bail, Not Coming To Perry Hall: Report
A judge reportedly denied a request for a man to be released to his family's home in Perry Hall while he awaits trial on rape charges.

TOWSON, MD — The 20-year-old charged with rape after an encounter at his dorm room at Towson University reportedly has family in Perry Hall who wanted him to be released to their house. A judge denied the request, and the man is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Onyekachukwu Chukwuebuk Igwilo, 20, of the 400 block of Towson Way, has been charged with first-degree rape, attempted first-degree rape, false imprisonment, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.
Igwilo was charged in connection with an incident that happened Sunday, Sept. 22.

Police said the victim was a student at Towson University who went to Igwilo's apartment to watch a movie around 3:30 p.m. and when he started to make advances that she declined, he held her down and raped her.
Igwilo tried to prevent the victim from leaving his apartment but then let her go, at which point she called the Towson University Police Department to report what happened, officials said.

Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a visible injury. According to Fox 45, her neck had a large bruise on it, and she had injuries that were "consistent with rape."
Officers said they found enough probable cause to arrest Igwilo immediately in connection with the rape.
He went before a judge in Baltimore County District Court Tuesday, Sept. 24, for bail review. At the hearing, his parents requested through a lawyer that he be granted home detention at their house, which is located in Perry Hall, according to Fox 45, which reported the judge cited the seriousness of the charges against the junior IT major in deciding to hold him without bail.
The student had been living in on-campus housing at Towson University but has since been banned from campus, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Igwilo is set to appear for a preliminary hearing in Baltimore County District Court Oct. 18, according to court records.
