May 19-20: Cake & Wedding Cottage Grand Opening Celebration

is settled into its new home at Belair Beltway Plaza—and it's planning to celebrate with a weekend of free tastings, discounts, raffles and demonstrations.

In its 35th year in operation, the store from Perry Hall Crossing Shopping Center to 7670 Belair Rd. in Fullerton in March.

Since the move, shop owner Tammy Manserger "has stayed true to its original roots yet worked to modernize the shopping experience, the day-to-day operations and by year’s end, hopes to expand a growing assortment of classes and introduce gluten-free products and eco-friendly packaging options," according to a company announcement.

The following demonstrations are planned for May 19:

• 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Candy Making
• 1-1:50 p.m. All About Cupcakes
• 2-2:50 p.m. The Basics of Cake Decorating
• 3-3:50 p.m. Working with Edible Transfers
• 4-4:50 p.m. Making Cake Pops

The grand opening celebration with prizes and tastings will continue into May 20.

“We first opened in 1977 and have always believed in quality products, a family environment and a love of learning,” Mansberger said in a statement. “Teach them and share your knowledge was the motto of my family who turned their vision into a dream.”
