Middle River Hit and Run Driver Comes Forward: Police
Baltimore County police say the driver identified himself on Monday, and as of Tuesday charges have not been filed.

MIDDLE RIVER, MD -- A man confessed that he was the driver in Sunday’s fatal hit and run in Middle River, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

The state’s attorney was reviewing the case to determine if charges would be filed, and the man was not being identified at this time, police said Tuesday.

His 2007 Honda Accord was towed to the Baltimore County public safety headquarters for evaluation, according to police.
Officials reported they were able to positively identify the man as the driver in Sunday night’s fatal crash on Pulaski Highway.

A passerby reported seeing a body on the shoulder of Pulaski Highway near Martin Boulevard at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, police said.
The victim—Andrew James McNeal, 26—had been walking north on the shoulder when he was struck, officials reported. He was declared deceased shortly after he was found, according to the report.
After McNeal’s death, police asked the public for help identifying the silver or gray vehicle that hit him, noting it had front-end damage.
The suspect identified himself to police on Monday; and as of Tuesday, authorities said he was not in custody while the state’s attorney reviewed the case.
