NeighborCare Closes 2 Baltimore County Pharmacies
The company transferred prescriptions to another pharmacy.
Six NeighborCare pharmacies shuttered over the weekend, the company recently reported, including two in Baltimore County.
NeighborCare pharmacies in Owings Mills (Crossroads Medical Center) and Pikesville (4000 Old Court Road) closed for good at 4 p.m. on Feb. 7.
Customers' prescriptions were transferred to Walgreens at 1510 Reisterstown Road in Pikesville, where they were available as of Feb. 8.
In addition to the Pikesville and Owings Mills branches, three other NeighborCare locations in Maryland shuttered:
- Columbia (Howard County General)
- Baltimore (Liberty Medical Center)
- Southgate (Medical Arts Centre of Glen Burnie)
Omnicare closed the pharmacies in a strategic move so it could focus on serving institutions like skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, according to The Baltimore Sun.
