Nottingham Driver Charged With Attempted Murder After Ramming Man With SUV: Police

A juvenile dispute went to another level when a Nottingham man allegedly rammed one of the kid's parents with a vehicle, police say.

ABERDEEN, MD — A Nottingham man faces attempted murder and other charges after police allege he hit an Aberdeen man with his car over the weekend. The two were involved in a confrontation about an issue between the victim's son and the assailant's nephew, according to police.

George Elmer Wagner III, 38, of the unit block of Winfrey Court in Nottingham, on Saturday drove with his brother to Aberdeen, where they confronted a 41-year-old man in front of his home in the 600 block of Walker Street about the issue involving the juveniles, the Aberdeen Police Department reported.

Wagner got into his Honda Pilot and drove away, then turned around, drove up on a curb and hit the victim on the sidewalk with his vehicle at approximately 4:57 p.m., according to police.

The victim had cuts on his right hand and an injury to his right foot but declined to go to the emergency room, police said.

After investigation, officials issued a warrant for the arrest of Wagner, who had fled the scene.

Wagner was charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He was released on bail on Sunday.

Wagner is slated to appear in Harford County District Court on March 16.
