Nottingham Woman Wins $50,000 At Giant: Maryland Lottery

A woman from Nottingham spent $5 on a scratchoff game and ended up $50,000 richer, according to Maryland Lottery officials.

A Nottingham woman won $50,000 during a recent trip to the grocery store. Her windfall came from buying a $5 scratchoff at Giant, according to the Maryland Lottery.

The 69-year-old Baltimore County woman was grocery shopping at the Giant on York Road in Timonium when she bought a Super Ca$h scratchoff ticket, officials said.

Since the game debuted in November, the Maryland Lottery reports only four other people have won the $50,000 grand prize.
