Perry Hall Brick Bodies Trainers Accept Ice Bucket Challenge

They called out a neighboring Baltimore County gym to take the challenge too.

In response to a request from one of their members, two trainers from the Perry Hall Brick Bodies had ice dumped over their heads recently.

The request was part of the “ice bucket challenge,” in which people dump ice on themselves to raise awareness about ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. They also donate to the ALS Association.

In July Pete Frates, 29, a former Boston College baseball player battling ALS, posted his own ice bucket challenge video and nominated some friends to do it, prompting the phenomenon to catch on nationwide.

The ALS Association reported Monday that it has seen $15.6 million in donations from July 29 to Aug. 18, compared with $1.8 million during the same time frame last year.

Perry Hall Brick bodies member Amy DeNike challenged the gym’s trainers to take the challenge. They happily accepted, capturing the moment on video, which they posted to Facebook. People who complete the challenge then select others to take it in the next 24 hours.
