UPDATE (9:07 a.m. Feb. 27)— is expected to move approximately two and a half miles south, from Perry Hall Crossing Shopping Center to 7670 Belair Road, at the Belair Beltway Plaza shopping center. 

The shop, which specializes in baking supplies and wedding-themed specialty items, closed for business on Saturday.

The store's anticipated move was announced on Cake & Wedding Cottage's official website, as well as on the store's voicemail message at 410-529-0200, over the weekend. Patch first reported on the expected relocation on Feb. 23.

Thank you to our loyal customers for 36 wonderful years in the Perry Hall area. We are excited to announce our new location- Belair Beltway Plaza, 7670 Belair Road. We will be directly next to the Beltway Movies. We expect to be open by Mid-March. The new center is doing everything possible to get our space ready. We apologize for the inconvenience. We look forward to you visiting us in our new location. As soon as we have a date to be reopen we will announce it. We will update you on our facebook page, website, or call 410-529-0200. Today, Saturday February 25 is the last day we will be open. We will be packing up the moving trucks and anxiously await the go ahead to start moving in our new space. UPDATE (11:35 a.m. Feb. 23)—After more than 20 years in the Perry Hall Crossing Shopping Center, near the intersection of Belair and Silver Spring roads, is planning to relocate.

"We're not going out of business, just going to a new store with minimum downtime," said a manager who declined to be identified. "It was a sudden thing ... we lost our lease."

The independently owned store's new location has not yet been finalized, although management hopes to keep the store close to or within the Perry Hall area. It specializes in baking supplies and wedding-themed specialty items like cake toppers and veils.

Sale items will be 50 percent off until Saturday or Sunday of this week, when the store is expected to close for business. It must be vacated by the end of the month.

Cake & Wedding Cottage is expected to open in its new location by mid-March, according to the manager.
