Lucky Perry Hall Gas Station Sells Winning Lotto Ticket

A stop at a Perry Hall gas station netted a $50,000 win for a driver, the second major winning lotto ticket sold there in two months.

PERRY HALL, MD — A Middle River man who spends his time working on other people's vehicles stopped to fill up his own tank in Perry Hall this week and ended up winning a five-figure prize playing a scratch-off, according to the Maryland Lottery. The man was paying for his gas at the BP gas station in the 8800 block of Belair Road when he noticed a promotion for a $20 scratch-off game.

"The $1 million top prize caught my eye. I said to myself, ‘Go for it,'" the 24-year-old told the Maryland Lottery.

After he scratched the ticket off while inside his car, he found he won $50,000.

The Middle River resident is not alone in finding the Perry Hall BP to be a lucky gas station. A Bel Air man won $50,100 playing scratch-offs at the BP two months ago as well, in late November.
