Perry Hall Hunters Issued 7 Citations

The pair of hunters faces up to $11,750 in fines, Natural Resources Police say.

DARLINGTON, MD - Two Perry Hall men are facing hunting and weapons charges that could result in six years in jail after Natural Resources Police stopped them near the Darlington Cemetery last month.

Stephen Eugene Nuckols Jr., 30, and Brian Joseph Nuckols, 25, both of Perry Hall, were in a white passenger car that a patrol officer saw back into two driveways so they could look into the fields across the street for deer using their high beams, according to Maryland Natural Resources Police.

The officer searched the car and found a loaded rifle under the backseat, police reported.

The stop on Shuresville Road in Darlington occurred Sunday, Nov. 29, and the Nuckols were charged Friday, Dec. 18.

The Nuckols, who live in the 8600 block of Silver Lake Drive, are charged with having a loaded weapon in their vehicle, possessing a deer in closed season, nighttime hunting, hunting at night with a light, hunting on private land without permission, casting rays with an implement and negligent hunting, court records show; they are scheduled to appear in Harford County District Court on Feb. 18.

Stephen Nuckols is also on probation for trespassing in 2010, according to Natural Resources Police.

The Nuckols face up to six years in prison, up to $11,750 in fines and revocation of their hunting privileges for up to five years if they are convicted on all counts, police say.
