Scenes of Perry Hall's Industrial Backdoor

Cinematographer Daniel Regner cataloged Perry Hall's "little niches."

Daniel Regner was a skateboarder with an artist's eye.

In 2010, he returned to his childhood home in Perry Hall after gaining a degree in cinematography from Stevenson University. That December, he revisited many of the "little niches" he first discovered while skateboarding—this time, armed with a camera.

In and other shops along the Belair Road corridor, Regner found an "industrial looking backdoor."

Photos from his shoot were loaded onto his Flickr account, where Patch recently discovered them.

Regner, now a Baltimore resident and cinematographer for Storyfarm New Media, said the community's influence on his work was significant.

"It wasn't the city and it wasn't the country—it was almost a hub for everything. Everything I wanted to explore was close," he said. "I gained a well-rounded approach to life in that area."
