Take a closer look at life in Perry Hall.

Customers often lean in over the counter and ask, "Have you got the good stuff in your trunk?" 

The "good stuff" they're referring to is illegal fireworks, said Bill Reese, who works at the fireworks stand in the Perry Hall Square shopping center. 

His answer is always no. "It's all legal here—that stuff is over the Pennsylvania line," Reese said with a laugh.

The 38-year-old Kingsville resident spends part of each summer working at the stand and much of each winter playing semi-professional poker in Atlantic City. 

When business at the stand is slow, he said he reads poker books.

But the Fourth of July will likely be busy, he added. The stand will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
