PHOTOS: Perry Hall Shop Hosts Rescued Dog Adoptions
Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter showcased rescued dogs at Pet Valu on Saturday.
Wearing vests that read "ADOPT ME," a small group of rescued dogs greeted customers at the in Honeygo Village Center on Saturday afternoon.
They were joined by volunteers and foster pet parents during one of Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter's .
Volunteer Melissa Trotman said she tries to organize adoption events at least once a month and has held several at Pet Valu.

"They love it here," Trotman said. "Today we took them all for walks at to get them some exercise before the event."
Most of the dogs up for adoption are mixes, she said, adding that despite the breed's aggressive reputation, volunteers find them to be "sweet, gentle" and "great family dogs."

Christy Fear fosters Bumble Bee, a pit bull mix, through the BARCS program.
"I keep her with my family so they can bring more dogs into the shelter," Fear said. "I have a 5-year-old child at home and she's great with children."
In addition to finding prospective adoptive pet parents, Trotman said the events are meant to raise awareness about the shelter.
"We need people to adopt, volunteer and, of course, we always welcome donations," Trotman said.
