Police ID Kingsville Woman Killed By Falling Tree
The Kingsville woman who died Friday as she went out to get the mail was reportedly a woman of faith who helped others.

KINGSVILLE, MD – Police have identified the woman who died during the nor'easter in Kingsville. She was hit by a tree outside her home that afternoon.
Betty Lee Bauman, 77, of the 11000 block of Cedar Lane in Kingsville, was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to public safety officials.
Crews were dispatched to the 11000 block of Cedar Lane for a report of a person pinned at 12:38 p.m. on Friday, according to Emergency Medical Services Captain Tim Rostkowski.

He said the woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, had been outside getting the mail when a tree fell on her.
A neighbor in his truck saw Bauman bend down to pick up fallen tree branches near the street before heading back inside, and that was when she was struck, according to The Baltimore Sun, which said a firefighter who lives nearby checked her but reported she had died instantly.

Described as a devout Christian who helped women in need, volunteered at soup kitchens and worked as a secretary, Bauman is survived by her husband, three daughters, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Bauman was one of at least five people who died in the winter storm on the East Coast, according to ABC.
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan declared a state of emergency on Friday evening to allow Maryland agencies to coordinate resources to support impacted citizens.
Wind gusts were about 60 mph in the area the day that the tree fell in Kingsville.
The case on Cedar Lane in Kingsville was one of a handful of cases Friday where trees fell on people's properties around Baltimore County. Others were in Lutherville, Upperco and Glyndon, officials said.
