"We tried our best to stay in business for our family, our hardworking employees and for our amazing customers, and unfortunately we decided it was the right time to move on," according to a message posted May 8 on the Basta Pasta Facebook page. "Regretfully, after almost 3 wonderful years Basta Pasta Perry Hall will be closing its doors on May 8th 2019."
The family-owned business started in 2004 in Fallston, and its three other remaining Basta Pasta restaurants will remain open — in Fallston, Timonium and Eldersburg. Those who had gift cards for Basta Pasta may use them at the remaining Basta Pasta restaurants.

Before it was Basta Pasta, the restaurant had a brief stint as Tex-Mex eatery Cocina Diablos, which opened in 2015. Prior to that, it was Bill Bateman's, which opened in 2011 and replaced Damon's Grill.
Later this spring, HIVE Baltimore Bistro will take over the location at 9629 Belair Road now that Basta Pasta has closed in Perry Hall. The new restaurant is slated to open May 29.
