Retiree Wins $100K On Scratch-Off

A woman recently won $100,000 after picking up three scratch-off tickets on her way out of a Middle River store.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A woman's last-minute decision to purchase scratch-off tickets on her way out of a store ended in shock.

The retired nursing assistant from Baltimore won $100,000 after she decided to scoop up three Maryland Lottery tickets as she was getting ready to leave a Walmart in Middle River.

The Walmart store is located at 112 Carroll Island Road.

While two of the tickets turned out to be duds, it was the third — a Scratch & Match ticket — that left the woman and her husband slightly stunned after realizing their luck.

The win, however, isn't a first for the couple. The woman said she previously won $3,000 and $5,000 on two different tickets.

She told Maryland Lottery that her recent winnings would be used to care for her family and be kept in a savings account.

The lottery company says there are still two $10 Scratch & Match tickets worth $50,000 that are in circulation.
