Spring Hits Perry Hall: Chapel Hills Farm Reopens

Chapel Hills Farm & Nursery opened for the season this week.

 

For months, a sign at the entrance of teased that the animals were on winter "vacation."

The horses, , sheep and others came back to work this week at the petting zoo, located behind the nursery's shop along in Perry Hall.

Manager Mike Berk said visitors have already started greeting the animals and stocking up on gardening supplies.

Berk suggested that residents take advantage of the warm weather and dig into their gardens as early as possible.

"This is the time of year to plant your pansies and get down your fertilizer and ," Berk said.

Some parts of Chapel Hills are still yet to open, said owner Russell Berk. stand may not open for several days and the store will likely not carry fresh produce until after the Easter holiday, he said.

Other seasonal businesses have also begun meeting the springtime needs of local residents. is brimming with produce and gardening supplies, and lines are already forming outside . Richardson Farms in White Marsh has also expanded its flower selection.
