This Supermarket Chain Is Opening A Branch In Town

The Sprouts Farmers Market is setting up a base in Middle River's Costco Plaza, county officials confirmed.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A major supermarket chain has signed up for a lease at the Costco Plaza in Middle River.

The Sprouts Farmers Market will be taking over the space previously occupied by Big Lots, at 9977 Pulaski Highway.

The development was confirmed by Baltimore Councilman David Marks and Josh Sines, who serves as the president of the Essex Middle River Civic Council. Sines is also running to represent the 8th District on the Baltimore County Council.

Sprouts Farmers Market, known as a leader of fresh, organic produce, markets itself as one of the "largest and fastest-growing specialty retailers" that "helps people live and eat better."

A targeted opening date for the retailer's location was not immediately available.

The launch marks the grocer's second base in the county and the ninth in the state.

In the county, Sprouts Farmers Market can also be found in Towson, at 803 Goucher Blvd. The store is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
