Suspect Dies After Franklin Square Shooting: Police
Police said a man suspected in shooting his ex-girlfriend near Franklin Square Hospital shot himself in a barricade situation.

The suspect in a shooting near Franklin Square Hospital killed himself after a standoff with authorities, police said.
Erwin J. Acree, 29, of the 400 block of South Chapel Gate Lane, died at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center Wednesday, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
Acree was accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend Tuesday night at a bus stop across from Franklin Square Hospital.

Police alleged Acree shot her multiple times in the 9000 block of Franklin Square Drive before someone called for help at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday and she was taken for treatment.
Officials said they obtained a warrant to arrest Acree for attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and related charges. When they found him in the unit block of North Woodington Road, police said he barricaded himself inside and shot himself.

Acree was taken to shock trauma, where officials reported he was pronounced deceased Wednesday.
