According to police, the shooting occurred after an employee at Red Robin told a group of disruptive people to leave the establishment, who said they would wait for him outside the restaurant when he got off work.
When a friend came to pick up the employee and they were exiting the restaurant, the employee exchanged words with King, who allegedly fired multiple shots, police said.

The man who had come to Red Robin to give the friend a ride was hit in the lower body once, according to police.
The victim was hospitalized and is expected to survive, according to police, who found him in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Boulevard just after midnight on Sunday while responding to a call for shots fired in the area.
