Two Rescued from Crash on I-95 Near White Marsh

A crash near the White Marsh Boulevard exit on Interstate 95 jammed the southbound portion of the highway for more than an hour Tuesday.

The crash was reported at 11:08 a.m., according to state transportation officials.

Interstate 95 south was closed in the area for a little less than an hour and a half, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority, which said there were backups of 6 miles at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched at 11:10 a.m. and was the first due at the scene, according to the fire company’s report, which said its crew found two vehicles involved in the collision, with one person trapped in each vehicle.

The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company, Middle River Volunteer Fire Company and Baltimore County Fire Department responded to help get the individuals out of the vehicles and provide medical assistance, according to Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, which was also the scene.

By 11:51 a.m., the individuals had been rescued from the vehicles, Joppa-Magnolia reported, and significant delays remained between the exits for White Marsh Boulevard in Baltimore County and the Mountain Road in Harford County.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported that all lanes had reopened following cleanup except for the left lane, which was closed due to road work, and there were significant delays.
