VIDEO: County, Community Leaders Break Ground on New Perry Hall Sidewalks

The ceremony was held near the intersection of Ebenezer Road and Quail Run Drive at noon Monday.

County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, County Councilman David Marks and other community leaders broke ground on Monday afternoon—a public investment of $125,000.

"The people of Perry Hall have repeatedly expressed their desire to make this a more walkable neighborhood, where you can get from your home to your child's school with nothing more sophisticated than a pair of comfortable shoes," said Kamenetz.

"After all, for all the technology and equipment at our disposal, sometimes the best solutions are the most obvious," he said.

Two years ago, the Walkable Perry Hall Task Force identified several areas in need to additional sidewalks. Among them were Honeygo Boulevard, between Silver Spring Road and White Marsh Boulevard, and Ebenezer Road, near the Tremper Farms neighborhood, according to Marks.
