1 Rescued From Floodwaters On Philadelphia Road

First responders saved someone from a vehicle Tuesday trapped in the flood waters on Philadelphia Road near Campbell Boulevard.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A driver was rescued from Nottingham during the evening rush hour Tuesday. Philadelphia Road was reportedly closed during the operation.

A sedan was stuck in water on Philadelphia Road near Campbell Boulevard at 5 p.m., according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company, which sent four of its vehicles to the incident.

Fullerton firefighters brought the driver to safety, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported.

Officials had helped the driver out of the car, provided her with a life jacket and escorted her to safety by 5:30 p.m., according to WBAL, whose news chopper was overhead covering the incident.

The rescue occurred as a flood warning was in effect for the area; the warning expired at 6:15 p.m.

A trained weather spotter in Rossville reported 3.35 inches of rain had fallen in the area by 3:39 p.m., based on preliminary data submitted to the National Weather Service.

Drivers who come upon water of unknown depth should turn around; don't drown.
