One company has sour cream down to a science—literally.

TIC Gums on was recently honored during the International Dairy Show in Atlanta, GA, for concocting Dairyblend SC-ASC, a 100 percent hydrocolloid blend, Food Product Design magazine reports.

This unique food additive "combines natural emulsifiers with traditional thickeners and gelling agents to convey high quality, stable sour cream products," the article states.
