White Marsh Mall Mob: Police ID 2 Adults Charged
Police have identified two Baltimore men as the adults charged in the weekend disturbance at the White Marsh Mall.

NOTTINGHAM, MD — Police have identified two men charged during a disturbance at White Marsh Mall. Seven juveniles were also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, officials said.
Police said that a group of young adults and juveniles had been leaving the White Marsh Mall on Saturday night after a fight in the bathroom near the food court.
When mall security, including a Baltimore County police officer working secondary employment for the mall, ordered the group to leave, officials said many dispersed across the parking lot in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Boulevard.

A smaller group tried to go back into the mall and upon being stopped by a police officer, who explained they would be trespassing, officials said the group members argued and refused to leave.

Among them were these two, who officials say have been charged as the result of the ensuing activity:
- Michael Jerard Forrester, 19, of the 100 block of North Freemont Avenue, was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and trespassing. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
- Tyrell Davon Rigby, 19, of the 2600 block of Mura Street, was charged with disorderly conduct, failing to obey a reasonable and lawful order, obstructing and hindering and trespassing. He was released on his own recognizance.
According to police, when an officer tried to escort the two men off the property, Forrester turned and swung a fist at the officer, who blocked it and tried to arrest him.
After a Baltimore County police officer working secondary employment came to assist and Forrester resisted arrest, officials said they had to use physical force to handcuff him.
As police were arresting Forrester, authorities said a crowd of young people surrounded the officers and began yelling to spur further chaos; and after orders to back up and disperse were disregarded, one of the officers released pepper spray into the air.
Although the crowd began dispersing, the individuals did not leave and created backups on Ring Road around the mall and additional disturbances in the parking lot at the White Marsh Mall.
When police told Rigby he would be arrested for trespassing if he did not leave, officials said he put his hands behind his back.
Some members of the group crossed Honeygo Boulevard and went to The Avenue at White Marsh nearby, where police said the youths were ordered to leave due to its curfew.
The shopping venue in the 8100 block of Honeygo Boulevard has a youth escort policy that requires a parent or guardian who is at least 21 to accompany guests under the age of 17 after 9 p.m.
Police said it took about an hour to restore order in the area, and seven juveniles were arrested in addition to Forrester and Rigby.
More than 36 officers responded to the scene, including those from four precincts as well as the Golden Ring Maryland State Police barrack and Maryland State Police helicopter.
