Cecil County Public Schools Updates Wednesday's Weather Decision
Officials from Cecil County Public Schools reevaluated their decision about Wednesday, Jan. 30.

CECIL COUNTY, MD — In a change from an earlier decision, Cecil County Public Schools announced schools would be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Earlier, the plan was for a two-hour delay.
Although schools will be closed for students and 10-month staff, Cecil County Public Schools officials reported that school offices would remain open.

EARLIER REPORT (EXPIRED) — Public schools in Cecil County will open two hours late on Wednesday, Jan. 30. It is the second day in a row for the two-hour delay in Cecil County Public Schools.
Officials said that morning prekindergarten and preschool would be canceled Wednesday.

Afternoon prekindergarten and preschool will operate as usual.
Employees who work in maintenance, operations and food services should report on time unless they are otherwise directed, according to Cecil County Public Schools.
All other employees should report as soon as possible given road conditions.
Students should report two hours late on Wednesday.
Officials made the announcement Tuesday night, citing inclement weather.
A snowfall total of 0.4 inch was measured in Fair Hill at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, according to preliminary data submitted to the National Weather Service. That was the only measurement submitted from Cecil County. Bel Air reported more than 3 inches of snow.

Snow squalls are possible Wednesday afternoon in Cecil County, followed by "dangerously low wind chills" Wednesday night and Thursday, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service.
