Come Out for Holiday Fun With "It's a Wonderful Life!"

Imagine a time before television was king and radio ruled the airwaves. It was an age when everyone tuned in to hear Amos and Andy, The Lone Ranger or The Shadow. This year, the Lewis Lane Players are offering you a unique opportunity to relive this time gone by and be part of the “studio audience” for a live radio play adaptation of a Christmas classic.

George Bailey grew up a wide-eyed dreamer. He had grand plans to travel the world and build great things. But one circumstance after another kept pulling him back to the small town of his childhood, Bedford Falls. George constantly puts others before himself, but when his self-sacrificing lifestyle causes everything around him to collapse, he finds himself standing on a bridge contemplating ending his own life. Only the intervention of Angel Second Class Clarence Oddbody, who shows George what the world would be like if he had never been born, makes George realize just what a wonderful life he has.

Come out on December 20, 2014 at 7:00 and sit in the “studio” as the actors portray these classic roles and watch as sound effects that stimulate the imagination are created right before your eyes (and ears), just like they were in the radio shows of the 20s, 30s and 40s. All told, this unique show will give you a holiday memory you will never forget. Come up to 30 minutes early for a chance to meet Santa Claus!

The show will be held at “Theater 351,” at the Havre de Grace Activity Center, 351 Lewis Lane.
